Writer/Director Zoe Zou

Zoe Zou is a Chinese writer/director, actress, and a former dancer who graduated from The Central Academy of Drama in 2014. Being a stage actress, she played leading roles in Shakespeare's plays which performed at The 3rd International Theater Festival and National Centre for the Performing Arts of China. She went to the U.S. to pursue her dream of filmmaking in 2016. During her MFA film program at Art Center College of Design, she’s written and directed many narrative short films. The Bright Fire is her first short film after graduate school.

Director of Photography Mengyuan (Vivian) He

Mengyuan “Vivian” He is a third year Cinematographer in UCLA TFT MFA Program. Back in college, Mengyuan got her bachelor degrees both in Business and Film and Media Studies in UC Irvine, where she worked with Professor Brad Hughes on a National Education founded program as cinematographer and editor. Her passionate documentary project OutChina, is now registered as a NGO in the U.S. www.chinalgbt.org. Her works span on categories of narrative, commercials, and documentaries. As a Chinese Queer female filmmaker, she continues to hone her craft as a visual storyteller. She really hopes that her story will shed lights on stories haven’t been told yet.


Editor/Colorist Zhe Song

A graduated Chapman University MFA student who has edited and colored different types of short films including narrative, experimental, documentaries, and won a few editing awards from festivals.

Focusing on studying film editing, color grading, and post-production workflow. Constantly doing short film projects, and internships as both editor and colorist. Enjoy telling stories visually to make people get involved. With full of passion, ideas and ability to accomplish projects in a nice friendly way.
